1913
It all started with Nils Storvik. In 1909 he married Brit Sande and became a farmer at|
Sande in Sunndal and 1913 he built a small smithy that he operated in addition to the
farm. He mainly produced tools for agriculture, but Nils also demonstrated that he had a
knack for finer blacksmith’s art and was therefore entrusted with the task of making
locks to Sunndal Sparebank
1952

1976
Collaboration with Årdal og Sunndal verk (ÅSV), later Hydro Aluminium. Storvik was commissioned to manufacture the first series of cathode pot shells, and from there they continued to receive bigger and more assignments.
1979
Continued growth led to more employees and current generation owners took over daily operations. Storvik Smieverksted was converted into a limited company in 1979 and changed its name to Storvik Stål AS.
1985
Storvik Steel AS started a close collaboration with Akvaforsk and in 1985 Aqua Products AS (Aquaprodukter AS) established. Together they developed facilities for the rapidly growing aquaculture industry.
1995

In 1995, Storvik took a significant step forward by establishing its first subsidiary in the Czech Republic. That same year, Storvik Stål AS merged with Altek (engineering) and AWS Elektro (electrical engineering and installations).
Three companies became more competitive in securing contracts both nationally and internationally. Following the merger, they began operating under the unified name Storvik AS.
1986
The daughter company Protech AS was established and located in Sunndal, Norway. Protech AS is jointly owned by Storvik Holding AS and HMR Group.
1995
In 1995, Storvik established its first subsidiary in the Czech Republic and merged with Altek and AWS Elektro, uniting as Storvik AS to competitiveness globally.
2010
Storvik expanded internationally by establishing operations in the Reykjavík area, Iceland, strengthening its industry presence.
2012
Global deliveries to the aluminium industry. 25% of revenue came from
Hydro Aluminium Sunndal, while nearly 50% of sales came from abroad
2016
Acquisition of Heggset Engineering, we are continuing our growth and this acquisition creates a strong and competitive engineering team in Storvik
2018
Storvik secured a major contract with Hydro Aluminium Sunndal and expanded to Mosjøen, partnering with Alcoa for maintenance projects.
2018
Storvik strengthened its operations by opening a new mechanical workshop in Mosjøen, enhancing production capacity and service capabilities.
2019
Storvik completes its first turnkey delivery of the HAL Vibrocompactor to RUSAL, Volgograd.
2020
Storvik acquires parts of the Czech foundry RKL Slevarna s.r.o., strengthening its production expertise
2021
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Storvik kept growing and the turnover
exceeded EUR 29 million. A new business area; Fabrication and Machine
Building was established.

Storvik established Storvik, LLC in the USA, a Delaware company with offices in Alabama. Storvik’s annual turnover in North America is currently around USD 3 million. Storvik Mosjøen AS was established as a subsidiary of Storvik-Holding AS with an annual turnover of EUR 3 million
Storvik continues to grow with major contracts, increased production capacity, and a strong financial foundation.
With significant investments and expanding operations, we are reinforcing our position as a key player in the industry.
