Today, we remain committed to innovation, sustainability, and delivering world-class solutions that shape the future.

1913

WHRE IT
ALL BEGAN

It all started with Nils Storvik. In 1909 he married Brit Sande and became a farmer at|
Sande in Sunndal and 1913 he built a small smithy that he operated in addition to the
farm. He mainly produced tools for agriculture, but Nils also demonstrated that he had a
knack for finer blacksmith’s art and was therefore entrusted with the task of making
locks to Sunndal Sparebank

From Father
to Son

1952

Nils Storviks son, Endre Sande, took over. The projects kept increasing and a proper organization was needed. As were more hands. Storvik Smieverksted was created and the operations moved to new premises in Øyagata.

A Decade of Progress

1976

A Major Breakthrough

Collaboration with Årdal og Sunndal verk (ÅSV), later Hydro Aluminium. Storvik was commissioned to manufacture the first series of cathode pot shells, and from there they continued to receive bigger and more assignments.

1979

A New Identity

Continued growth led to more employees and current generation owners took over daily operations. Storvik Smieverksted was converted into a limited company in 1979 and changed its name to Storvik Stål AS.

1985

Diving into Aquaculture

Storvik Steel AS started a close collaboration with Akvaforsk and in 1985 Aqua Products AS (Aquaprodukter AS) established. Together they developed facilities for the rapidly growing aquaculture industry.

1995

A Strategic
Union

1995

In 1995, Storvik took a significant step forward by establishing its first subsidiary in the Czech Republic. That same year, Storvik Stål AS merged with Altek (engineering) and AWS Elektro (electrical engineering and installations).

Three companies became more competitive in securing contracts both nationally and internationally. Following the merger, they began operating under the unified name Storvik AS.
