In weeks 24-25, we carried out a successful “splitting” of the fire generator at Njord Bravo. Close cooperation between our engineering department, mechanical department and IRV-AS made this assignment possible.

The job was carried out at the old Storviks Mek. Workshop at Dale in Kristiansund. The workshop has long ship traditions from the end of the 19th century, and it is nice to see that ship mechanics-related assignments are still carried out on historical grounds.

This time it was the storage ship for oil and gas, Njord Bravo, which will soon go to sea after extensive restoration at Aibel’s workshop in Haugesund, which received its last upgrade here in Kristiansund before it goes to sea for another 20 years. The Njord field in the Norwegian Sea was shut down in 2016 and has since then been upgraded.

Our Project & Engineering department carried out the assignment in a particularly good way in a short time, so that the fabrication of skid equipment and lifting beam was produced and installed in accordance with the customer’s requirements for HSE and regulations.

The mechanical department provided good equipment adapted to the job, as well as skilled workers. In close dialogue with the customer and fabrication workshop IRV-AS, the job was carried out without significant delays, or in conflict with other work tasks on board.
